  • Nice spidy. Difficult to judge about the size tho. it could be good to put sth close to it for comparison, say, a human finger <img src=smilies/icon_smile_big.gif width=15 height=15 border=0 align=middle> Life is only given once ... and most often by accident

  • That, is.... BIG... The bigness... Thats bigger than any australian spider ive ever seen..... although not nearly the deadliest, ive held the deadliest spider on earth im my hand: The daddy long-legs <img src=smilies/icon_smile_big.gif width=15 height=15 border=0 align=middle> undisputed and scientifically proven to be the most deadly spider on earth, a human is immune because its fangs are too short to even scratch human skin

---- Call me Arania Humans Fear what they do not understand. And i doubt you understand me. Never say `Eat Me` to a giant snake. Bad idea, believe me...

  • there are bigger, camel spiders in the middle east. they are about twice the size of that... and i have a phobia of spiders...... ugh ___________________ If it hurt´s, well don´t touch it! If it feels good, read the bible your most likly sinning If it tastes good, its bad for you

_______________ i dont suffer fools gladly , in fact i dont suffer them at all

  • The ´daddy long legs´ is not a spider, its an insect - it has wings, it flies, and they said IF it could cross breed with spiders we would be in trouble if i remember rightly. If they could cross breed a south american tree frog with a mosquito - then we would be in more trouble.

  • @DSQ the &quot;camel spider&quot; thingy was revealed as a hoax well over a year ago. Google it, there are plenty of documented websites on the subject. Such as

  • I´m with DSQ on this one about the arachniphobia. I absolutely HATE spiders. Everything about them is creepy. The bigger they are, the creepier they get.

  • Meh, I say the bigger they are the more fun it is to skweesh them. <img src=smilies/icon_smile_big.gif width=15 height=15 border=0 align=middle>

  • Chips, you have to be thinking about that giant mosiquto. The grandad spider we have, is indeed a spider. It measures on the average, 3inchs across, leg tip to leg tip. <img src=´http://www.microscopy-uk.org.uk/mag/spider/phol1sm.jpg ´> info <A href=´http://encyclopedia.thefreedictionary.com/Daddy%20long-legs%20spider´ Target=_Blank>link</a> Edited by - Finalday on 10/18/2004 9:49:25 AM

  • <img src=´http://www.kendall-bioresearch.co.uk/PHALANG1.gif ´> Interestingly, daddy-long-legs or &quot;harvestmen&quot; are NOT insects but also NOT truly spiders. Insects have three-segment bodies, true spiders have two-segment ones and d-l-ls one. Although a cousin of true spiders, being an arthropod, a d-l-l is in an order all its own, the phalangida. True spiders are in the order arachnida. <img src=smilies/icon_smile_big.gif width=15 height=15 border=0 align=middle>

  • Maybe we call them different things then <img src=smilies/icon_smile_big.gif width=15 height=15 border=0 align=middle> Leatherjackets is what they are also called....<A href=´http://www.dowagro.com/uk/Grassland_products/dursban4/leatherjackets.html´ Target=_Blank>peekie boo!</a> Would make sense that we were talking about different things, especially since I couldn´t figure out why they would have such powerful venom <img src=smilies/icon_smile_big.gif width=15 height=15 border=0 align=middle> Edited by - Chips on 10/18/2004 12:31:23 PM

  • lol, lets vote, who here thinks spiders are creepy and doesnt like them at all? who doesn´t mine them&quot; and who actually like them? i don´t really mind them, but that may just b me <img src=smilies/icon_smile_tongue.gif width=15 height=15 border=0 align=middle> You can run, but run fast.... 1 shot is all I need.

  • UGH! *Brings in the LFS Kep Salu and blasts all spiders metioned on this thread.* I HATE SPIDERS! *Goes on a spider squishing spree. Has his faction help him* Oh, yeah, the mythbusters proved that daddy-longlegs are harmless. Their venom had a hard time killing flies, and they can bite through thinner skin, and it has been proven so. Harmless, and having less toxic venom than most household spiders. • snakes are better/cooler than spiders; it´s a proven fact!

"And the Lord spake, saying, "First shalt thou take out the Holy Pin. Then shalt thou count to three, no more, no less. Three shall be the number thou shalt count, and the number of the counting shall be three. Four shalt thou not count, neither count thou two, excepting that thou then proceed to three. Five is right out. Once the number three, being the third number, be reached, then lobbest thou thy Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch towards thy foe, who, being naughty in my sight, shall snuff it."
