  • Well razar got to the tools menu and click on model statistics then you´ll see a smal lits with stats then look for triangles keep this number below 3400 or you will not be able to import it!! Mad Dog Don´t Think, Just KILL!!!

  • I´d keep it down closer to 1500 if you want your model to be dynamically playable tho. You can get it in at 3400 but that doesn´t mean you should. Think, huge Armada Cap-Ship Fights as you build your creation. Even if your ship is only a support vessel you want to keep it as playable as possible. Since most of the fighters we have been making are already way up on the polygon count we need to try and limit our cap ships. Remeber that a large flat surace on your ship may have 20 oe more polygons on it. When infact you can make that large area 4 polygons. You may say "sure but that makes the textures come out funny". This is true, they will be a mess, but just play around with your settings and you can make it fit like it id before. Also, SL doesnt need to have models welded together so dont bother. Just make sure you delete all the parts on your ship that nobody can see. Using just those two simple things can easily tunr your 3400 into a 1500 or less.   • Hey, way don´t U make a Crarrier eith the basic form of the TCS Midway. But without those "wings" in the front and take away the entire command-bridge and replace it with one looking like the one of a SW Star detsroyer. I could maybe be a good design. It´s atleast a proposial.

  • hey you guys, i cant get any model i make from milkshape into sltool. i couldnt even get a box into sltool. i textured my model, exported it in 3ds, converted it in sledit, and unpacked it with unpack.exe. it says its compressed even if i uncompressed it. please help me.

  • Dreamsiege - you don´t need ot unpack anything. The unpacker is only designed for files extracted from the hog file in which the .shp files are compressed. When you convert a ship from 3ds to shp format, it isn´t compressed at all and you should be able to open it in SL Tool immediately after conversion. You may want to import the ship first just so you can view the model in SL Tool with some textures. Edited by - Fuzzball on 12/3/00 7:45:37 AM

Because I just can´t beat you guys<img src=smilies/icon_smile.gif width=15 height=15 border=0 align=middle> I´m now working on my very first capship(and not fighter as I mentioned earlier on the forum). It´s going very good and I sent a screenshot to Mad Dog and he´s very positve about it.   • My first model ever posted on the forum. *sniff* This is a moment to remember. I´ve made my ship with Rhino. I ´ve already got some 3D modelling experience because my uncle makes 3D pictures and he even wins prizes with it! He motivated me to make a capship. I designed it all by myself as Mad Dog said. I sent the picture to him yesterday and he took care of some details. Tnx to him! I don´t have got a name yet. Maybe a new competition<img src=smilies/icon_smile.gif width=15 height=15 border=0 align=middle>. What about &quot;The ANS Discovery&quot;?
