What system do ya have? Is your system up to date for Freelancer ?

  • Damn. You guys are crazy. Even if i had the money, I wouldnt get a new comp that regularily. Maybe its just me, but I think ur old comp is still waaaay good. And no, im not saying that compared to my current comp. My rig right now is still chuggin along fine. With that aside, awesome comp, man. FL will run without a hitch on that. - -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- Remember, NPC´s are people, too.

  • My configuration: Pentium 4 (1.7 Ghz) 256 MB SDRAM 60 gig. harddisk Turtle Beach Santa Cruz soundcard 5.1 NVIDIA Geforce 3 ti 200 (64mb) DVD-ROM and CD-RW (don´t know the actual speed, but they are fast though) 17 inch flatscreen Logitech Mouse Multimedia Keyboard Harmon Kardon 695 speakerset (2 design speakers + huge subwoofer) I guess I have nothing to complain about ! FL will run nicely on my rig

  • Off the top of my head I couldn´t tell you what I´m running on at home, but I KNOW that it´ll run FL easily, God Bless my 3 year warranty

  • Ok. Here´s mine. Hope it runs FL with all settings maxed. Falcon Mach V Athlon 2000+ XP Geforece 4 ti4600 512 ram 60 gig had soundblaster audigy and some other things i don´t know of right now. As i said, i just hope it runs FL maxed out. we´ll see soon. i hope.

  • Component wise I´m up to date although the proc. might be lacking. 750 MHz Slot A Athlon 120 Gig Western Digital w/8 MB cache 384 MB crucial PC-133 ram Audigy 2 128 MB Radeon 9500 pro {just got it last week}

    [img=http://www.boomspeed.com/rheinland/rdsignew.jpg] Sworn to Rheinland,Destroyer by occupation ; so is the legacy of RD........

  • My 3DMark 2001 SE result was 8117 with this system: AMD Athlon XP 1600+ ------------------------- 256MB DD-RAM ------------------------- Ati Radeon 8500 64 MB DDR ------------------------- Soundblaster PCI 128 ------------------------- 40Gig Seagate + 20Gig Maxtor ------------------------- 19" Monitor ------------------------- 12x CDR + 16x DVD-Rom ------------------------- Windows 2000 Prof. /Win XP Prof. and Win 98 SE <-(for 10 year old games)

  • Here´s my config: AMD Athlon Thunderbird 900 Mhz ASUS A7V Motherboard 896 MB PC133 SDRAM ( recently upgraded from 384MB ) Geforce4 Ti4400 AGP Video Card Soundblaster Live! X-Gamer ( soon to be upgraded to an Audigy 2 ) IBM Deskstar 75GXP 30GB Hard Drive Creative Labs 8x DVD Drive Plextor 12/10/32A CD-RW Drive 3Com 3C905B 10/100 NIC 19" Sony G400 Monitor As you can see, I have a pretty odd mix of new and old hardware(Geforce4 on a 900 Mhz machine?), but I plan on replacing the mobo and CPU in the future at some point(maybe six months), so I should be able to carry over the vid card and my new audigy 2 once I get it, plus some other parts. So far I´m still quite happy with my system for gaming, the recent addition of 512 more MB of RAM helped out Battlefield 1942 a lot with map loading and general speed, which I bought for $30 on Black Friday after Thanksgiving. I think my system should still be able to carry me for at least another year without a new processor and motherboard for gaming, maybe even a little longer...I´m a college student, so I don´t have tons of money to plunk down(except for when I first built this system 2 1/2 years ago). But hopefully I´ll drop something new in this summer. As far as Freelancer, I´m sure it will play beautifully on my rig...I´m really looking forward to March. In the short term, I am looking forward to Thursday, I´ll be done with exams and Christmas break begins! Plus the Two Towers will be out tomorrow! Ah, life is good indeed, so long as I do well on my exams. Edited by - Midnight82 on 17-12-2002 18:31:21

  • Stinger, theres no excuse for having that GF2 in an otherwise good computer. A good one is like 50$, go get one.

  • Tach, the 64 mg DDR is the only reason why I haven´t upgraded. It can handle anything on the market (or otherwise). It makes a huge difference, my benchmarks I´ll stack against most others in FPS (even many 3´s and 4´s). My next upgrade will be a complete system, cherry picking components is not logical anymore. That something you do after a major upgrade and I´ve pretty well exahausted most bottlencks at this point. The only thing holding me back is the FSB on the mobo. A year from now I´ll most likely revamp the whole system if only to play with the new technology. For now, this is more than adequate for my needs.

  • Pfft, with your video card you can forget about FSAA and anisotropic filtering which do make games look a lot better when you can run them. You´d be suprised how big a difference in graphical quality there is between a GF2 and even GF3
