Quick tips for Newbie to Multiplayer

I´m currently working on a Noobie FAQ/Manual. It will have to go in Spoilers, so I´ll email you. Some quick stuff: Unlike SP, if you die you lose all your cargo and any unmounted weapons/equipment. There are no Saves, your character is saved on the server when you exit. ID number This is how all the Servers know you, keep it safe. In the start menu you can access your ID number. It´s a long one, so take a screen shot too as well as write it. I guess at some point during re-install you can enter that number. Flying missions in NY is ok, but easy and boring. Here is how I start a (pirate) character. Keep in mind being a pirate can be more difficult, but also rewarding <img src=smilies/icon_smile_wink.gif width=15 height=15 border=0 align=middle> ...............possible spoiler alert................... ...There are storage depots in Manhattan and Ft. Bush, select your ´loot´ scanner menu to find them easily... then blow one up! Kill a few incoming cops if you can, otherwise grab the goodies and dock with a trade lane. Docking at any station will reset enemies to nuetral, then go to Newark and sell your goods. Repeat until cops are neutral. Rogues, Junkers, and Xenos will be neutral too. ...Goto Buffalo (rogue) base and buy the Dagger.. best ship available in NY, and decent cargo room. Get decent weapons as soon as you can. I usually mount xeno scorpions, or rogue laser guns. Match velocity on your guns for accuracy. ...Then go to a jumpgate and scan transports for cargo. When you find a good one (not food, water, or oxygen) fly in close underneath and shoot the cargo pod until it pops off.. Don´t kill the freighter or escorts. Grab the loot and sell. Kill a few incoming Navy ships. Repeat until Navy is neutral with you. Congrats! You are now neutral with everyone, except perhaps the Rhineland criminals - so look out there. Now you can fly missions for criminals, which pay better than good guys. You can also do trade runs anywhere you want (cept maybe rhineland) without worrying about getting raided. Also there are a few really nice places to raid Transports, and I recommend using a Dromedary for doing so. 275 tons of pure profit will get you rich pretty fast. Any area near a Freeport is a good pirate spot, though I will say some are better than others. You mean this is a FAST track to start? yes. But if you want to enjoy the game do every posible mission and explore every corner of NY. NY is best system for missions and exploring, dont ruin it to your self. Second rule HAVE FUN!

Traditional newb mistake #1: Buying a titan Traditional Newb mistake #2: Flying the titan to New york to impress the newbs without properly equipping it Traditional newb mistake #3: Feeling secure in underequipped Titan, challenging a well equipped saber or eagle to a duel and getting embarassed by dieing in 3.03 seconds. Traditional newb mistake #4: Running out of cash because of no attempt to make money at crete/malta before flying to NY. This is followed by a realization that all AI in NY hates you and you dont have money to buy your rep up with them. my no1 tip for noobs( if they cant get a cash handout ) is remember the value of your mission when using botts /batts a 2000k mission you dont have much left if you are 2 liberal with these its an easy error to make if youve just finished sp or moved from a server where you have a high level player and 200 a pop is &quot;nothing&quot;

I have to disagree with Gun_ho´s Traditional newb mistake #6, Torpedoes can be very usefull, use them to blow up space stations in missions, or when launched at point blank range at a target while doing a fly-by they can pack quite a punch, the trick is launch them when the target can´t evade, since the only other thing you can mount in that slot is a cruise disruptor, why not mount a torpedoe launcher.

I have never ever ever use torpedos. I do use the cruise disruptor, mostly for fleeing mission objectives. Yeah, I still play missions. <img src=smilies/icon_smile_wink.gif width=15 height=15 border=0 align=middle>

beware of gifts of money some servers bann you it seems if someone gives you too much money and i mean ban not warn just bye bye your banned game over ive heard this on good authority and it happened to me when i started on a new server this week
